Training regularly
Thomas Kieller
To improve your health and your form, it is necessary to take time to practice physical activity. A training done regularly is definitely more effective for your physical condition than a training interrupted with long periods of inactivity.
Indeed, regularity is required to improve our form and our health condition, because the beneficial effects of active life blur away after some weeks and disappear completely with long periods of inactivity.
Sedentary persons
Sedentary persons must start with one session of physical activity per week. After a trial period, you will be able to increase to two sessions per week with a minimum of a two day pause. This way, your physical condition will improve and you will be able to increase progressively the session frequency, duration and intensity. A six month period will be necessary in order that you may practice your activity three to four times per week. In your situation, the important thing is to be regular.
Active persons
It is recommended for active persons to do three to four sessions per week of physical activities with a minimum of 30 minutes. The persons who are truly sportive can easily increase the number of sessions of physical activities to six times per week. However, they will have to be cautious. They will have to sleep well, have a good diet and always take a day off per week.
If you get sick, it is preferable to abstain from training; take the time to recuperate. Contrary to what many people believe, you will not get rid of sickness by training. You will only worsen your case. It is important to judge well your physical condition.
Note: You must not feel bad if you miss one or two sessions of training. The goal is to continue to move regularly. Sometimes, a week off is beneficial.
